Designed and detailed contemporary two story residential structure using engineered wood framing for flooring, roofs and shear walls. Currently under construction.

Grand County Mountain Residence Fraser, Colorado
Designed and detailed engineered timber construction for a large advanced-energy home located in a mountain environment. Various design alternatives were considered for the required 40 foot clear spans and vaulted ceilings, including heavy timber construction. Designs included the use of structural insulated panels and a passive solar configuration. The residence was featured in a recent article due to its intensive use of engineered columns and beams.

Arlington County Water Treatment Plant Arlington, Virginia
Designed and detailed buildings, towers, and structural features as part the project Artist's elements for the water quality upgrade of an existing treatment facility. Developed steel, timber, and concrete designs for required foundations and superstructures, and coordinated with treatment plant personnel and plant upgrade consultants.

Entrance Trusses, Powell Structural Systems Delaware, Ohio
Designed, detailed and fabricated four exposed, 18’ Wolmanized® Parallam® PSL trusses for main entrance roof of lumber dealer’s new office building. Trusses were shop fabricated and assembled onsite.

Sudden Death Movie Set
Participated in the design and analysis for a 110’ diameter, forced perspective replica of the Pittsburgh Civic Arena (home of the Penguins NHL hockey team). Four rotating, dome sections were designed to fold over two stationary sections. Each section formed 1/8th of the entire circumference. Performed computer assisted design verification of the member stresses and deflections.

Timber foot bridge Allen Township, Ohio
Structural design and fabrication detail drawing preparation for 28’ covered,heavy timber footbridge for city park. Wolmanized® Parallam® PSL timbers and hot dipped galvanized steel side plates were designed and drawn for Warren side trusses, floor, ceiling and lateral bracing.
